Only in Jerusalem...

  • Do i never get ready, and feel like a sweaty boy most days
  • did i come to understand and appreciate the value of a shower
  • do i crave pedicures
  • am i grateful that i have legs and am able to walk much longer distances than I ever thought i was capable of
  • are you NEVER by yourself
  • do i laugh so hard I cry, daily.
  • does my Arabic teacher think i got in some terrible accident because he mistakes my flower headband as a head gauze bandage.
  • do i wear the same outfit 2x a week.
  • do practically all 80 students know my life story, and i know theirs.
  • do i get to hang out with an apostle and also a member of the 70 for 2 days.
  • am i up before sunrise
  • do i get to workout, eat, live, attend church, have FHE, chat, learn, and become best friends with all my teachers and their wives.
  • can i become best friends with 10 girls in 3 weeks
  • do i actually use my email
  • am i spiritually stuffed by the time i go to bed each night.
  • do i make my own olive oil
  • do I get to hear, to my dismay, my Old Testiment teacher loudly fluff (i am a lady, we don't say the other word) while working out. Needless to say, i dropped my hold in push-up position.
  • do young Arabic boys ask for my phone number.
  • do i not look people in the eyes as i pass them by on the streets. (its their culture- you just don't)
  • does a hug have the same affect as a cup of hot cocoa on a cold day. (ok people, its not like you are getting your mothers warming hugs ever- physical contact is at an all time low)
  • have i had to stand up for and defend the United States, and my culture.
  • has Stephen R. Covey become one of my hero's
  • have i come to aprreciate, and know its worth the money for a GOOD washing machine!
  • do i dine with stray cats every night- and have named them all.
  • have i seen an old man's bare bottom.
  • do i eat fish everyday
  • do i teach aerobic classes.
  • have i become a bible scholar
  • has my life been changed forever!

  1. Lauren! It sounds like you're having so much fun there. You're doing great at your blog and this post cracked me up . . . and made me jealous. I want to make my own olive oil and hang out with general authorities. I'm sorry about the old man butt.
