Last week I had a great "giving someone the benefit of the doubt" experience.
My mom was out of town to Vegas for a week, and for her birthday my dad wanted to get new lighting for the house, before she got back.
Well the guy who was supposed to come never showed up. My dad called the guy to come over every single day but never heard back.
So my mom got home and the surprise lighting didn't work out.
the next week the guy finally shows up and while he is in the other room, my brother says to my mom, "just so you know, we are really annoyed at him because he said he would come and he never showed up. So I don't know if we should still use him."
My mom replies, "Oh, he apologized for not showing up or returning dad's phone calls. He got diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer last week."
boy did we feel dumb.
Benefit of the doubt people...
